Shatter extraction lab & 1500 plant grow located in Oakville

During the early morning hours of May 2, 2016, the Halton Police Drug, Gun & Gang Unit executed a search warrant at a residence located on Glenashton Drive, Oakville.  While searching the residence, officers located a sophisticated indoor marihuana grow operations consisting of 1500 plants.  Officers also located a very large ‘Shatter’ (cannabis resin) extraction lab that was operational while the officers entered the residence.

‘Shatter’ is a smooth glassy substance commonly golden or caramel in colour. When dropped, the substance generally shatters.  Shatter can be purchased in the Halton Region for approximately $70 to $80 per gram. It is generally smoked placing small dabs on a metal object (generally titanium) which is often heated using a butane torch.

Jay DURIE (57 years) & Richard CAMPBELL (53 years) have both been charged with two counts of producing a controlled substance and two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
